We are a small animal practice in Redcar, Cleveland, providing top quality care in a friendly environment, supporting our clients and their pets throughout their lives. Avenue Veterinary Surgery is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and our staff continually develop and update their skills. We also provide a dermatology referral service run by a dermatology certificate holder.
Marina Sadler joined us as Head Nurse at the practice in April 2016. She originates from Russia but moved to the UK 2004. Marina studied veterinary nursing at Newcastle College and qualified in 2013.
Marina worked at Marske vets for seven years and has lots of experience of general practice work. Prior to joining us Marina worked as a referral nurse at Wear Referral Hospital and has also worked at Vets Now Emergency Service provider so also has valuable experience in emergency and critical care situations.
Marina has two cats and in her spare time she likes to read, cook and travel.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Ashleigh joined the team in 2010 she is training to be a veterinary nurse at Askham Bryan College and will qualify in 2017 as a registered veterinary nurse (RVN). She has an interest in weight management and how obesity affects animal health and wellbeing. She runs clinics to support owners when they need to control their pet’s weight.
Her hobbies include dog walking with her two Labradors. She also has a keen interest in rabbits, establishing her own rabbits in the fancy, breeding and showing society.
Animal Nursing Assistant
Sian joined Avenue Veterinary Surgery in August 1998. She is one of the longest serving members of the team and is a valued member of staff. Sian has built up a good relationship with a lot of our clients and is always a familiar face with our long standing clients and their animals.
As well as helping out with the nursing team, Sian is also responsible for the insurance claims.
In her spare time, Sian is a keen horse rider with over 30 years experience and owns three horses as well as two cats and a dog. She has also shown Rhodesian Ridgebacks at championship level even winning at Crufts.
